Chinese Falconry, looking for Hares

Once out in the open fields you soon realise how unprotected you are in this vast flat land. Cool winds cut right through you and with nothing to dissipate their bite, the only thing you can do is keep moving.

Hares were not in abundance as these farmers hunted them at night with the same dogs, and also by day with the addition of the TuHu falcon.

It was amazing, to me anyway, that the dogs ran and caught hares at night. Then when working with a falcon they ran the hare in a large circle and held back for the falcon to take the hare. They was no conflict of interest, when they worked with the falcon, she was boss.
