Goshawk and Large Munsterlander used for falconry
In early training it is essentially that both dog and hawk are relaxed in each others company and especially when feeding. A young hawk does not want to feel threatened by the presence of the dog and thus start to defend its food.
This is why in this photograph both my young parent reared male goshawk is feeding on game whilst my young bitch Large Munsterlander dog relaxes and watches.
Gracie my dog has a sweet gentle nature and soon started to learn that this hawking lark was something very interesting.
