Goshawk on bowperch with Large Munsterlander
Very soon both goshawk and my young Large Munsterlander Gracie were relaxed in each others company. Things were starting to come together to get this new team up and running.
A Large Munsterlander in my opinion is an excellent falconry working dog but like all working dogs they need time patience and sensible training. These dogs will train themselves but not to do what you want them to do, they are highly intelligent and if you do not work with them and guide them they will leave you far behind.
This is often the reason for some of the derogative comments on the Large Munsterlanders ability. It is not the dog as the fault but the trainer or lack of a trainer. To get a good dog a lot of time and energy needs to be put in, this should be an enjoyment, if not then you are not cut out to train or work a dog.
