Golden Eagle and dog

Following the natural progression, “Siouxzee was always at my side during every training session with my young eagle. His early flights were in the home paddock just at the back of the house and he learned to eat his daily meal in close proximity to both “Siouxzee” and myself.

“Siouxzee” never showed any interest in hawk food once in the possession of a hawk. If a hawk was feeding on the fist and dropped a morsel she felt that it was her duty to clean up.

Feeding like this on the ground, she respected an invisible boundary and no matter what, would not enter. Once the hawk or eagle knew this they never felt threatened and would feed relaxed and comfortable.
