Falconers yard, China

Mr. Li Shi lived in the old part of town in a lovely courtyard building that had been in his family for four hundred years.

His Cang Ying sat calmly in the sun and his sweet pointer dog waited patiently for some action.

The courtyard was a haven of calm, we would sit in the sun and drink tea and talk falconry as many friends and relations came by with different hawks and caged birds.

The kitchen and eating room was off to one side and quite open with a mountain stream running past the tables and chairs.

After a days hawking in the mountains it was a wonderful place to relax as the sun went down and the stars filled the night sky.
