Charles Schwartz American falconer
American long wing falconers in the western states are often very dedicated to their sport. Not that all falconers around the world are equally dedicated, but out on the vast high dessert country these guys participate in some awesome flights at equally awesome quarry. Namely the sage grouse.
Charles Schwartz is one of those dedicated and talented falconers I have been lucky enough to meet and hawk with.
Charles has a love of gyr falcons and this picture is of Jalad his gyr/peregrine. Charles has an exceptional ability to obtain the very best from his falcons. They fly hard and true and over many years and account for their fair share of one of the toughest quarries for a modern day falcon.
Charles lives in grouse country which eliminates wasted travel time to good hawking ground, lucky dude.
